Video Inspection Camera – 2.5″ Color Monitor
July 16, 2009 8:04 pm Video Cameras, Visual OpticsVisual Optics Video Stik is an excellent choice in video inspection cameras.
The Visual Optics video inspection camera, probably has a million uses. The main use I think of coming from an automotive repair background, is inspecting engine cylinders for damage to valves without taking the engine apart. I know of auto techs that also use these tools to take a quick peak at the brake pads through the car’s wheels, while a vehicle is up in the air for an oil change or some other service. Also checking water pump weep holes can be difficult sometimes, to get a “clear line of sight.” The Video Stik makes it simple to take a quick look past belts and pulleys to see if there is a leak. I personally know a Tampa locksmith that loves his video inspection camera, he uses it routinely to get key codes from the back of door lock cylinders (inside the driver’s door) without the hassle of removing the lock.
A recent customer purchased a video inspection camera so he can obtain serial numbers on Humvees that are headed to Afghanistan. Without the use of the scope, he explained some dismantling would be required to obtain the numbers he was contracted by the US Military to obtain. Even though our home office is in Florida, (in this case) we were able to provide quick delivery from our California warehouse at no additional cost. The video inspection camera had a great return on investment for this customer, it saved him an hour on each Humvee and helped him in meeting a tight deadline. Time really is money.
Below is a question from a fire rescue person that was interested in adding a video inspection camera to his fire rescue tool kit. He asked a question I hadn’t even pondered before.
Question Do you think the VS36 video optics scope would work well for searching inside a vehicle that has been involved in an accident? I am a fire fighter that specializes in vehicle extrication and in a lot of cases we need to see if a persons feet or legs are pinned under a dashboard that might be hard to see any other way.
Answer I could see how this would be a useful tool. Also, more than one person can view the 2.5″ color screen to help assess the situation. The (VS36-10ww) video camera, in comparison with a fiberoptic borescope seems better since the bore-scope only allows one person to be able to view at a time. I’m not sure which you would prefer, but consider also that these video inspection cameras are available in 36 and 72 inch versions. We have either available with free shipping and no sales tax charged outside the state of Florida.

Is there a video out and screen shot capability. I am looking for cameras to inspect the inside of Scuba cylinders and take a picture of suspect areas.
