Mastercool Car AC Tools and Equipment – Tool Information
May 5, 2011 2:55 pm Air Conditioning, Auto Specialty Tools© DenLorsTools.com Summary: Auto specialty tool article featuring Mastercool, which is one of the leading air conditioning service tool companies in the United States and in the entire world for that matter. At DenLors Tools, we take pride in offering quality tools that any professional technician would happy to have in their arsenal. We also like the fact that Mastercool is a family owned company. Below we cover some of their products that make AC service on cars a much easier task.
I’ll have to admit that in the past I have always been a Robinair guy, but recently I’ve really been noticing that Mastercool’s product line, which is really quite impressive. Take A/C machines for
example. Robinair has 3 popular machines available right now. We sell all of them. Our most popular Robinair unit at the moment is the 34288, which is the least expensive of the three Robinair machines. Not so surprising is the fact that the 34288 has the fewest frills. Mastercool on the other hand has only ONE AC machine, it’s about the same price as Robinair’s least expensive unit. It has the key features that only Robinair’s more expensive models have to offer. Oil/Dye injection and a capacity data base come to mind. See the Mastercool 69788 product listing for more information. Our MSC69788 product listing has an owners manual in pdf format and a YouTube video that Mastercool has produced. If you’re like me, you’ll agree that “the more information, the better when researching for major purchases.”

Mastercool AC manifold gauge sets feature anti flutter gauges, which is usually a feature that’s reserved for more expensive gauge sets. Anti-Flutter needle movement makes it easier to read the gauges with more accuracy. The MAS66773 A/C Manifold Gauge Set pictured above is a nice solution for the tech that wants the flexibility of servicing BOTH R12 and R134A systems. The 66773 comes with R12 and 134A hose sets. I also like the fact that this particular set comes with 72″ Goodyear hoses. The reach that the longer hoses allow, means easier use of the gauge set. It’s pain to use a gauge set with short hoses that will not reach from the gauge set hanging under the hood to a refrigerant source tank on the shop floor! Longer hoses are much more accommodating all the way around.
The solenoid that is pictured above works together with the electronic refrigerant weight scale. It turns off the flow of Freon at the correct amount of charge. See the Mastercool 98230 product listing for instructions and a link to the scale that it works with.
The Mastercool products covered here in this blog only scratch the surface. See our full line of Mastercool AC Tools on our main website. Also there’s some other AC related articles linked below.
The tips in this article are very basic and NOT intended to be a complete guide for servicing your AC system. Please refer to a repair manual for further instructions.
